anti-social is the wrong word. i'm more socially anxious...or socially unsure. but this is more about social networking. i love facebook. but there's plenty of things i can't stand about it. not the site itself, but it's users. they're more like abusers. or just plain annoying. just look at your inbox to see who wants you to be a vampire or harvest crops with them (i admittedly play farmville, but i never send invitations to people).
what really gets me though is the 'like' monster. i've all but given up posting anything but generic statuses because of it. the last time i posted something about my own life, i got a bunch of people liking the status. yeah, you heard me, i'm complaining because people 'like' my status. whatt bothers me is when it's someone i was once close with. that's what our friendship has evolved into? you can go months, or longer, without talking to me, but because you like a status, we're cool? with going to school full time and working the other times, i'm busy too. i still try and keep and touch with whoever wants to. so now i have taken to writing generic comments, or quotes from movies that are just plain fun. i mean, it seems that the least thought out status (ie...i love unicorns and stickers!!) are the ones that get 100+ comments. if nothing else, i saved the energy of the 'like-clicking-finger' of my associates by not writing a status like "after a year of unemployment, i finally got a job!'. you know who likes that? me...and i don't need to click a button to show it.

facebook, i love you, but you've bastardized the meaning of friendship.
